Day 11: The Shameless Plug

i will not fear the jaws of the deep, nor the cold embrace that lies beneath the waves

That's on the front of the latest band t-shirt I've bought. For the record, I have not bought a band tee since Michael W. Smith came to LeTourneau University in Longview, TX, with his new hit single "Missing Person". I was 7 (yes, my parents bought it for me. But I wanted it).

Constant Seas has been accurately described as "the dark side of post rock". Based out of the DFW metroplex, they first hit the scene early 2009 doing small-time gigs and shows here and there, but have since progressed to doing major shows, opening for bands such as Moving Mountains and Shapes Stars Make, both nationally acclaimed. Constant Seas is comprised of five guys, John (guitar), Jeff (bass), Shaun (guitar), Daniel (guitar), and Chris (drums). They are all extremely talented, and they flow well together onstage. Seeing them last week was without a doubt one of the best shows I've ever been to, especially on the underground scene.

Anyways you can catch them at www.myspace.com/constantseas . They're close to releasing their first EP, and it's sure to rock your socks off.

Listen to if you think that Explosions in the Sky mixed with Mogwai doing the soundtrack to the end of the world would be a good idea.
